Sumatra Mandheling Coffee

Bought the 12 oz bag as a gift for my brother-in-law, who is insufferably particular about his coffee. He called me two days later, completely unprompted, to tell me it was one of the best Sumatras he'd had outside of a boutique roaster. That's high praise from someone who once returned a bag of coffee because he didn't agree with the roast date. Consider this my stamp of approval by proxy.

Opening this bag is an experience—it smells incredible, earthy, warm, and faintly sweet. The taste delivers exactly what the aroma promises: rich dark chocolate, a hint of cedar, a smooth body, and almost zero bitterness. I brew it in a standard drip machine every morning and it beats any coffee shop cup I've had in months.

Makes a genuinely outstanding Americano too. You could pay three times as much at a specialty roaster for a similar result. I won't.
